Como Zoo & Conservatory

As the last free zoo in the United States, Como Zoo & Conservatory is more than a beloved Saint Paul, Minnesota attraction—it’s an important institution promoting conservation and education that relies on efficient use of donor funding.

Challenge

The Como team approached Spot to completely rebuild their website, which had become dated, difficult to navigate and even more difficult to update with the relevant content visitors sought. The marketing team needed a solution that was modern and responsive on the front end while being flexible and intuitive on the back end.

Solution

Leveraging historical site engagement analytics and feedback, Spot created an entirely new site architecture and page wireframes with an emphasis on user experience and streamlined, accessible content. We brought our design prototypes to life through a custom WordPress solution that’s as easy to navigate as it is to update, and it features eye-catching visuals, motion graphics and content available in over 100 languages.

Results

Receiving an average of 12,000 users per week and maintaining first page search rankings for high-volume keywords, the website continues to deliver a strong ROI and served as only the first of many marketing initiatives that Como would partner with Spot on, including advertising, eLearning programs, content accessibility remediation and more.
